The Sentence Structure of Cause and Effect
- Due to, Owing to, Thanks to and Because to are followed by a noun.
- As, For, Since, Because and As a result of are followed by a verb.
how to differentiate cause and effect
- Cause (verb/kata kerja), Literally means an activity that causes something to happen.example: The overuse of motorist vehicle causes global warming.
- Affect (Verb) .example:The weather affects her emotion
Dialogue About Cause and Effect
A: What are you watching?
B: I’m watching a football match.
A: What teams are playing?
B: A.S. Roma versus A. C. Milan.
A: Which one is leading?
B: It’s hard to tell. Both are playing good. The score is still nil nil.
A: Which team do you think is going to win?
B: I guess it is A.S. Roma. It’s because they’re using the attacking approach. A team with attacking approach usually wins.
A: I don’t agree with you. I think A.C. Milan will surprise us with their defensive technique.
B: Do you want to bet?
A: Sure. The loser will have to buy a pizza for the winner.
B: All right.
Conculsion:
The relationship of causes and effects is mutually sustainable. That is, if there is a cause, there will be an effect. On the other hand, if there is an effect, there must be a cause. Thus, we can say that a cause and effect sentence is a sentence that contains at least one cause and one effect.
